2020 Highlights

ELI ASIA IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC

We praise God for how Eli Asia has flourished in 2020, at a time of a pandemic, with gatherings prohibited, and health protocols in place, God has given wisdom to the Eli Asia staff and students to find ways to adapt to the new normal.

Eli Asia classes on various campuses lost no time in adapting and continuing to learn through the use of technology. We’ve all learned and read about the drawbacks of ever-changing technology and the benefits and drawbacks of having an online presence, but God has blessed us by allowing students to meet online. This year, we found that the number of students using this medium of instruction has increased. Though we had to get used to using various channels and an unreliable internet connection at first, the staff and students soon adjusted to the new setup. Given the challenging situation, students in the new normal became even more committed to attending classes.

From Teaching Face to Face, to Video Production and Editing

Pastor Nicky Joya, facilitators, and teachers from various campuses adjusted to the new normal by learning to teach online as well. What used to be hours spent on the road, driving between campuses is now spent making video lessons that students can access at any time during the day. We miss meeting in a classroom and hope to be able to do so again in the future, but for the time being, online classes are the way to go.

Our campus in Bulacan and Lanao Del Sur, which do not have access to a fast internet connection, use video recordings of the lessons stored on a USB that they plug into a monitor.

Community Outreach with QCEC

We praise the Lord for His goodness in providing us ministry partners to help 12 pastors studying under Eli Asia during this time when so many are struggling financially. (insert picture)

Eli Asia Through the Storms of 2020

In 2020, the country has been struck by a number of strong storms, leaving many people in Central Luzon stranded in floodwaters for days or weeks without access to clean drinking water or food. Crops and livelihoods have been ruined. Our Bulacan and Pampanga partner churches were not spared.

We praise God for how He has used friends and ministry partners to collect funds to buy relief supplies for families not just for our partner churches but was also extended to those outside of the local church. A great opportunity for the saints to bear each other’s burdens while being witnesses for Christ.

Elia Asia Faculty in Training

All glory to God for raising men in the church and in Eli Asia, where trainees are groomed to become Eli Asia faculty. They are Master of Theological Studies program students. They teach basic subjects as part of their training.

Our ministry of providing affordable ministerial and theological training to pastors and lay leaders are made possible by the financial support of individuals and churches. Every seed that is sown is used to fulfill our mission of equipping leaders for effective church ministry.
